Sarah Palin

I decided to write this, because today I was channel surfing, and happened upon a Fox interview with Bristol Palin. Most know the Bristol is Govenor Sarah Palin's daughter, the one who was pregnant at age 17. Well while watching the special and hearing both Bristol and Sarah speak on the issue, I began thinking. The media really has put the spot on Govenor Palin and her family since August, when she was announced as John McCain's Vice Presidential Nomination in the 2008 Race for the White House. Questions swirled around not only her, but her kids too. The media said that Trigg(her now almost a year old son) was not hers, and they wanted to know who the real mother of the child was. When it was truly Govenor Palin and her husband Todd's child. Another topic swirled about her purchase of cloths during the campaign. The media actually posted how much money she spent on clothes. Many should know she did give all the clothes back afterwords. As for her daughter,Bristol. Yes she was pregnant at the worst time, during her mothers campaign. She was way to young, but It Happens. It Happens everyday in America to young teenage girls. I mean I saw on yahoo the other day where a 15 year old gave birth and the father was only 13. Bristol just happened to be in the spotlight. It's rediculous how much emphasis was put on just her prenanct alone. They need to learn to leave the politicians alone, get the straight facts and not ruin their lives. Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson 2 Worlds 2 Voices Tour 11/14/08

I saw this dynamic duo at the BJCC Arena in Birmingham, Alabama on November 14, 2008. I was upset that my mom got tickets to see this instead of Sugarland the week after, but I was happy to go to another concert. I was super excited because this was my 1st out of state concert. I had been to 2 concerts in Atlanta, and previously that month had the Eli Young Band perform in my school gym. As we waited outside the arena doors for 7:00 pm to hit, I was enjoying annoying my little sister as Sugarland's "All I Want To Do" came over the speakers, and I danced and sang and made a fool of myseld right there infront of everyone. Finally the doors were opened to go see this historic once in a lifetime concert. I rushed my party in the door, and raced to the sales table. I picked out a red Kelly Clarkson shirt and headed for my seat. I was amazed at how good I could see the stage. The 8 pm deadline drew nearer. At 8:05 I was still trying to conveince the people I came with that Melissa Peterman(Barbara Jean on the Reba show) was on tour with these two. I was just not going to win this arguement. Finally 8:15 the music stops and a loud, but familiar scream fills the arena. Then out came Melissa Peterman. As I readied my newly perchased camera, I shot everyone and "I told you so" look. Melissa entertained us with stories about her son, and from the Reba set. She also did some karaoke impressions of Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson. About an hour passed, and Melissa bid us goodnight. The curtains closed again, and we waited. about 5 minutes later up goes the curtain, and the band fills the air with the opening of "Sweet Dreams", as Reba and Kelly shot up through the trap door in the middle of the stage. The two went on for about 2 hours, and it was amazing, like a live CMT Crossroads right in front of me. Kelly bounced back and forth on the stage, as Reba did some of her familiar dance moves. Then the two left and so did the band. I was really pumped, but also dissapointed. The whole drive down there I was like, "I want to hear "Fancy", I don't care if they sing anything else, just "Fancy"!" They were gone and no "Fancy"????? I refused to leave until I was for sure they were not coming back. Sure enough the crowd grew louder and no one was moving. The band re-entered, and it was time for encores :) Three encores and a performance of "Fancy" later, I was pleased. All in all, this was the BEST concert experience I had experienced so far. The energy between the two, you could feel all over the room. I'm glad I got to witness this in person instead of through an hour on CMT or 3 minutes on the radio.
